In addition to abundant Florida wildlife, Turnbull Bay is home to rare migrating White Pelicans in the Winter.

There are 3 active Bald Eagle Nests within 2 miles of the Airport Property.  They are designated as Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission  Nest ID #'s VO054, VO088, and VO097.  All were documented as active nests from 2002 through 2006.  Nesting Eagles do not like Jets taking off and landing on a frequent basis!
